The Queer Resource Network (QRN) creates tools, programs, guides, workshops, and educational materials to support queer, trans, and allied organizations in delivering safer, stronger, and more sustainable community services.

This licence exists to:

Protect QRN and Why We March from misuse or misrepresentation
Prevent commercialization or extraction of community-created knowledge
Ensure resources remain community-centred, accessible, and values-aligned

2. Ownership & Copyright

Unless otherwise stated:

All QRN resources are the intellectual property of Why We March, operating the Queer Resource Network.

Use of QRN resources does not transfer ownership.

3. Licence Grant (What You Can Do)

QRN grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our resources under the conditions below.

You may:

Download and use QRN resources for non-profit, community-based, educational, or advocacy purposes
Adapt or modify resources to meet local community needs
Use resources in workshops, trainings, support groups, and internal programming
Share resources internally within your organization or network

4. Attribution Requirement

5. Adaptation & Modification

The adapted material does not misrepresent QRN or Why We March
Core values (equity, inclusion, harm reduction, anti-oppression) are upheld

You may not claim adapted materials as entirely original work.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

Sell, license, or monetize QRN resources (in whole or in part)
Use QRN resources within for-profit products or services
Repackage QRN resources for resale, subscription, or paywalled access
Use QRN resources to support hate, discrimination, or exclusionary practices
Remove QRN / Why We March attribution
Present QRN materials as official policy, endorsement, or legal advice

7. Paid Programming & Cost Recovery

Organizations may charge cost-recovery fees (e.g., room rental, facilitator wages) for programs using QRN resources only if:

The resources themselves are not sold
QRN is credited
Fees are reasonable and transparent

If you wish to use QRN resources within revenue-generating programming, licensing permission is required (see Section 9).

8. No Endorsement

Use of QRN resources does not imply:

Endorsement by Why We March
Partnership or sponsorship
Alignment with QRN positions beyond the scope of the resource

Organizations are responsible for their own programming, facilitation, and outcomes.

9. Extended or Commercial Licensing

If you wish to:

Use QRN resources in paid training programs
Include them in professional certifications
Embed them in platforms, toolkits, or learning management systems
Translate and redistribute at scale

11. Termination of Licence

This licence automatically terminates if:

The terms are violated
Resources are misused or commercialized without permission
QRN or Why We March requests removal due to harm or misrepresentation

Upon termination, use and distribution must stop immediately.

This licence is grounded in:

Mutual aid, not extraction
Care over control
Community accountability
Accessibility and shared learning

You will not use the Services for hateful, discriminatory, exploitative, or unlawful purposes
We reserve the right to restrict or revoke access for misuse.

3. No Professional or Crisis Advice

The Services may include educational content related to mental health, advocacy, community organizing, and social services. However:

QRN does not provide medical, legal, clinical, or crisis intervention advice
QRN resources are not a substitute for professional services
Users are responsible for adapting materials to their local context and legal requirements

If you or someone you serve is in crisis, contact appropriate local emergency or crisis services.

4. Intellectual Property and Licensing

Unless otherwise stated:

All content, toolkits, guides, templates, graphics, and written materials are owned by Why We March
Materials are provided for licensed organizational or community use, not resale
Users may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, or substantially modify QRN materials without permission, except as allowed under the applicable QRN license
Specific license terms may apply to certain resources and will be clearly stated.

5. Attribution and Modification

When permitted to use or adapt QRN materials, users must:
